Bristol Bears have signed second-row Josh Caulfield with immediate effect, the club have confirmed
The 26-year-old former London Irish lock represented England at under-18 and under-20 level and has previous experience in the Premiership with both Exeter Chiefs and Wasps and has now put pen to paper at his hometown club. The versatile forward, who can operate in the engine room and as a blindside flanker, also made 105 appearances in the Championship for Cornish Pirates and will join up with the squad for pre-season.

Bristol director of rugby, Pat Lam, said: “Josh is a local lad with a great attitude and desire to improve, so we’re pleased to be able to bolster our second row ranks and add even more competition for places.
“He is hard-working, versatile and has good experience in the Championship and Premiership, so we’re pleased to welcome him to the Bears family.”
Bristol were in need of reinforcements in the second following the departure of Sam Jeffries, Joe Joyce, John Hawkins and Morgan Eames this summer leaving just Chris Vui, Ed Holmes, James Dun and young Joe Owen to provide cover in the engine room.
