Bristol Airport has apologised after delays for passengers at baggage reclaim.
An internal investigation has been launched with airline handling agents after a deluge of disgruntled passengers posted that they had to wait hours to get their cases. Some described events this morning as an "absolute shambles".
It came amid an exceptionally busy month for the airport. There have been a number of occasions where travellers have been forced to queue outside the building just to check-in.

Several posts via social media said people had to wait an hour or longer to get their cases off the carousel this morning at around 2am. (May 15, 2022).
@cez_furb posted: "@BristolAirport what on earth is happening at baggage reclaim we have been here almost 2 hours with vague updates, some cases have come off at a different belt and our flight is no longer on any screens it’s absolute shambles!!!"
@1BBuck posted: "Landing at 2:30 in the morning, I don’t really want to be waiting over an hour for my bags to turn up @BristolAirport@swissportNews Others at the airport have been waiting 3 hours for theirs. Terrible service!"
Apology from Bristol Airport and investigation launched
A spokesperson for Bristol Airport said: "Baggage delays were experienced last night to some flights arriving into Bristol Airport in the early hours of Sunday 15 May. Bristol Airport apologises and appreciates the frustration customers experienced due to the delay in the arrival of their bags. An internal investigation with the airline handling agents will be completed."
