Brilliant Uchijima wins NECC-Deccan ITF for second time

PUNE: It was expected to be a keenly-fought contest but the brilliance of Moyuka Uchijima made it completely one-sided, the third seeded Japanese beating Australia's Tina Nadine Smith 6-4, 6-0 to claim the NECC $40K ITF women's singles title at Deccan Gymkhana on Sunday.

It was Uchijima's second title at the venue, following her triumph in 2021 December, and her third in India, going with her success in Navi Mumbai last month.
