Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo comments on future amid Manchester United links

Impressive Brighton playmaker Moises Caicedo says he is “not thinking about any other club” right now amid transfer links with Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has caught the eye of many top teams since his arrival at the Seagulls in February 2021. The youngster went out on loan to Belgian side Beerschot the following August before putting in a solid showing during his 10 Brighton games upon his January return.

Caicedo netted his first Premier League goal in May’s 4-0 win over United, and opened his account for the 2022/23 season in Sunday’s 5-2 thrashing of Leicester. United had the chance to sign the midfielder for £5.4million in December 2020, prior to his Brighton switch but declined due to agent fees.

His price tag will be considerably higher now after a terrific start to the season, having helped Graham Potter's side keep three clean sheets in their six opening games from his deep-lying role. And speaking after the win over Leicester, Caicedo commented on his future.

“I’m very happy here at Brighton,” he underlined, as per Sussex Live. “I’m not thinking about any other club than Brighton. This is the club where I am now and I will give everything for this club and to keep doing well here."

This comes after Seagulls boss Graham Potter played down talk of a departure last month. He said of Caicedo: "He is a really humble person.

"He is really enjoying his football as you can imagine. He is only young but he has got such a high possibility. We love him here.

"In regards to speculation, it is what it is. When the transfer window is open you always get that stuff but he is really enjoying his football here and we are really enjoying having him."
