'Bright and sassy' schoolgirl, 11, tragically dies six weeks after being diagnosed with brain tumour

Little Evie-Leigh Cormack had dreams of becoming a paramedic when her life was tragically cut short. The 'bright and sassy' schoolgirl was only 11 years old when she died - a mere six weeks after being diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour.

She will be laid to rest on Monday, with her younger siblings, Matthew, four, and ten-year-old Lillie, leading the procession. Evie-Leigh's heartbroken family have thanked their local community for raising £10,00 for her funeral.

Her devastating story touched the lives of everyone in her home town of Hartlepool and donations towards funeral costs and supporting the family came flooding in. The family have asked for mourners to wear purple - her favourite colour, Teeside Live reports.
