If you have a flight or train to catch in Delhi today, September 12, do not leave home assuming that your usual route will work. The BRICS Leaders' Summit is being held in the capital, and Delhi Police has put several roads and corridors under traffic restrictions and diversion arrangements.
The restrictions on Saturday are scheduled from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm. The arrangements are focused on central Delhi and routes connected to the Bharat Mandapam area, but their impact can extend to commuters travelling towards major railway stations and the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Delhi Police has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and use the Metro wherever possible. For people with flights or trains, leaving earlier than usual would be a safer option.

However, commuters should note that being on the controlled-area list does not automatically mean a road will remain completely closed throughout the day. Traffic can be regulated, stopped or diverted depending on VVIP movement and security requirements.
