Boss Steve Cooper has expressed his “frustration” that a late postponement meant Nottingham Forest fans had a long trip to Bournemouth with no reward.
The Reds were due to face the Cherries in a crunch Championship clash at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night.
But the match was called off barely four hours before kick-off, at about 4pm, with Bournemouth citing damage to the ground caused by Storm Eustice, saying it could “pose a significant risk to supporters’ safety”.
By then, many of the travelling contingent were either already on the south coast or well on their way there.
“We were preparing for the game as normal. It wasn’t until late on that the game was called off,” said Cooper.
Contract latest
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis held a meeting in London last week in a bid to persuade Brennan Johnson to sign a new contract.
Marinakis met with the Wales international's father, David Johnson, the former Reds striker, amidst intense interest in the winger's signature.
Talks were first broached in December 2020 when Brennan was on loan at Lincoln, but his father was concerned about playing opportunities under former manager Chris Hughton and the discussion went no further, Johnson said.
Johnson Snr told the Garibaldi Red podcast formal talks first took place last September and, although a deal is not close to being signed, he gave fans hope one could yet be agreed, with Brennan's current deal set to expire next summer.

Head coach Steve Cooper is keen to make Nottingham Forest fans’ unwavering support a “real advantage” for the club as they chase their promotion dream.
The Reds have been backed by sold-out crowds at the City Ground in recent weeks, as well as often using up their full allocation of tickets for away games.
And Cooper believes the connection between supporters, players and staff can play its part in the final months of the Championship season.
It comes as the Welshman is due to answer questions in a fans’ forum at the stadium on Thursday night.

Nottingham Forest are understood to have shared their observations on the circumstances surrounding Friday night’s postponement with the English Football League.
The Reds’ crunch Championship clash with Bournemouth was called off at 4pm, less than four hours before the scheduled 7.45pm kick-off.
The Cherries cited damage to the Vitality Stadium caused by Storm Eustice, which is said to have occurred on Friday morning, saying supporters could have been put at "significant risk".
Talk that the game could be moved to Saturday - its originally scheduled date - first emerged on Thursday evening. And that still looked like potentially being an option on matchday morning.
