Brendan Rodgers has revealed the "quality and experience" Celtic have come up against in the Champions League will benefit the squad long term.
The Parkhead side have just one point from their first four matches and must win their remaining two fixtures to have a chance of staying in Europe after Christmas.
And Rodgers insists there are positives to take despite the results not going Celtic's way.
He said: “I think the two standouts for me are the experience the players gain from playing at this level... players who have been consistently at this level so that is always important.
"When you come up against top-level players, it is all about concentration for 90 minutes going into the game and it is about quality at the top of the field.
"All the teams have forward players that can hurt you and make a difference and you do not get the number of chances that you do domestically, so you have to be clinical.
"Quality and experience are what improves you as a team and an individual at this level.
Rodgers also detailed how discipline will be key for Celtic in the fixture. The Parkhead side have twice been down players so far this season in the Champions League with Gustaf Lagerbielke and Odin Thiago Holm seeing red away to Feyenoord and then Daizen Maeda being ordered off against Atletico Madrid.
And the 50-year-old recognises that for his team to pick up the three points in Italy they must keep all 11 players on the pitch.
"I think we learned over the course of the competition against Lazio and other teams when we are 11 v 11, we can really compete on the field," he continued.
"Obviously, in the last game when we learned that you need to concentrate right to the very end.
"We looked like the team that was going to win the first fixture and we ended up losing the game which was a big disappointment."
