Brendan Rodgers insists there will be no repeat this weekend of Leicester ’s shocking midweek collapse to Spurs after holding clear-the-air talks on Friday.
The Foxes looked set for a morale-boosting win against Tottenham when they led 2-1 in the 94th minute.
But Spurs sub Steven Bergwijn notched in the 95th and 97th minutes to secure a dramatic three points.
No team had ever come from behind to win in the Premier League so late before with Spurs still trailing after 94 minutes and 52 seconds.
Rodgers gave his men Thursday off to regain their composure and is backing them to bounce back at home to Brighton on Sunday.
Asked if he felt his side would hold on to win if leading in similar circumstances, boss Rodgers replied: “Yes, and hopefully the referee plays the allocated time as well which would be nice.”
Rodgers’ remarks were a reference to the supposed five minutes of stoppage time due under Jonathan Moss.
Martin Atkinson is the man in the middle tomorrow and Rodgers says his side will have learned a harsh lesson.
He admitted: “You do suffer when you have a loss like that.
“It is painful.
“But this group of players have shown numerous times when adversity comes, they have the ability to jump back up and go again.
“You have to be able to get back up and fight again.
“That is something we will look forward to doing at the weekend.
“We have spoken about moving on from that.
“We have shown many times even after a disappointing result that we can jump back up again and continue the fight.
“With five minutes of injury-time we got a kick on 94 plus 33 seconds and you know if you see it through you go on and get a great victory.
“Instead we make a couple of mistakes in duels and all of a sudden you have lost the game.
“But whether you are winning or losing the game, it is there to fight right until the final whistle.”
Rodgers called his squad together on Friday to discuss and analyse the loss.
He added: “We looked at it and were very open, analytical and honest with it.
“That allows you to move on.
“We are not trying to blind side anyone.
“We should have won the game but there is a great lesson there.
“We have a mantra here ‘anything is possible’ and that game typified that.”
Rodgers doesn’t have major funds for transfers this month but is after a new defender on loan with targets including Melang Sarr of Chelsea.
