Brendan Rodgers insists Celtic "might have to" do some work in the January transfer window to sign a forward if certain players are called up to play in the Asian Cup.
Kyogo Furuhashi, Oh Hyeon-gyu, Daizen Maeda and Yang Hyun-jun have all had recent caps for their countries and could play in the January tournament.
This would leave the Scottish champions without a recognised striker after the winter break but Rodgers says the club are prepared for all eventualities.
He said: "Obviously we have been trying to anticipate the guys over the last few months who are going away to the Asian Cup so clearly if Daizen [Maeda] and Kyogo [Furuhashi] are away then we would have to do something in the market."
Rodgers also confirmed that defender Cameron Carter-Vickers had undergone an MRI scan after being substituted as a precaution at half time during the recent victory over Hibernian.
And the 50-year-old revealed it will be a waiting game whether or not he features against Kilmarnock on the plastic pitch.
"We'll assess Cam over the next couple of days," he continued. "He didn't pull his hamstring but we just had an MRI scan on that to make sure he's OK.
We'll await the results of that. You have to think clearly about the surface if there's guys that have certain injuries, knees, ankles or whatever.
"It is a consideration but I won't overthink it either. It's a tough game for us so we want to have the strongest squad available to try and win it."
