Charlie Mulgrew has recalled the time that the Celtic squad burst out laughing when former boss Brendan Rodgers tried speaking Spanish to them in training.
The Northern Irishman joined Celtic back in 2016, and instantly took the Hoops to new levels by winning every domestic trophy in his wake at Parkhead. The ex-Liverpool gaffer became a cult hero at Celtic Park, only to leave the Hoops for Leicester City in 2019.
However, his time in the east end of Glasgow is fondly remembered by fans and former players alike; most notably by Charlie Mulgrew, who has recalled a time when the boss randomly decided to start speaking Spanish in a training session in a bid to galvanise his players. Despite only being with Celtic for one summer under Rodgers whilst keeping fit to look for a new club, the Scotland international hasn't forgotten the training ground gaffe Rodgers blessed him with.

Speaking at Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig's evening at the OVO Hydro, Mulgrew said: "When I first went back to Celtic when Rodgers took the job, I was back training. Really nice guy, a great manager.
"I remember him speaking to Emilio Izaguirre one day. Emilio spoke perfect English, and he started speaking to Emilio in Spanish. I was like that, 'he speaks English, but whatever.'
So anyway, we're jogging away and we asked, 'what did he say, Emilio?' Emilio was like that, 'I don't know!'.
"So we're standing about ready to start the warm-up, and any other manager just goes, 'right, on you go.' He went like that, 'VAMOS!'. I was howling man! He put on some great sessions and was a great manager for the club, but what a laugh. His Spanish wasn't great!"
