Brendan Rodgers lamented the inconsistency in Premier League officiating after seeing Scott McTominay avoid a red card for a lunge of James Maddison.
The Manchester United midfielder escaped with a booking as he stretched to win the ball after a heavy touch early in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
The Foxes players were furious at the decision but it wasn't reviewed by the VAR and McTominay stayed on the pitch and was substituted soon after.

Rodgers pointed to a similar incident in Leicester's game against West Ham earlier this season when Ayoze Perez was shown a red card and felt the same decision could have gone McTominay's way.
“We had a decision earlier on in the season not too dissimilar at West Ham where Ayoze Perez has a heavy touch and goes into the challenge and gets sent-off," said Rodgers.
"This was similar. He was a wee bit heavy with his touch, goes in committed, he could have very easily seen a red, that’s the inconsistency of it."
Rodgers was also disappointed with the VAR decision to disallow Maddison's goal that would have put Leicester ahead with 10 minutes to go. The Foxes boss did praise United captain and former Leicester player Harry Maguire, who turned in an impressive performance after a difficult week when he was jeered while on international duty.
“Harry’s a good guy. The focus at Manchester United is really lasered onto you and as captain it comes onto you even more," said Rodgers.
"Harry has a strong mentality and he’ll work through any difficulties he has. He’s a really important player, it’s why he’s got the captain’s armband. He’s a humble guy and he’ll get back to his level."
