Former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has paid with his Leicester job after the Foxes slipped into the Premier League relegation zone.
The Irishman was at the helm for over four years after his shock Parkhead exit and narrowly missed out on the Champions League on two occasions while securing FA Cup glory in 2021. But it was a disastrous campaign for Rodgers and his players and they now face the very real prospect of relegation.
That has prompted the Leicester board into executive action with manager and club parting ways. Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “The achievements of the team under Brendan’s management speak for themselves – we’ve experienced some of our finest footballing moments under his guidance and will always be grateful to him and his staff for the heights they helped us to reach on the pitch.
