Brendan Rodgers addresses Leicester future as former Celtic boss hit by 'sacked in the morning' chant

Brendan Rodgers says he is committed to Leicester City until the board tell him otherwise as the Celtic invincible squad manager rides a tough spell at the Foxes.

A frustrating summer has brought zero outfield signings and top defender Wesley Fofana is pushing for a move to Chelsea. They are yet to win a Premier League match and a 0-0 Carabao Cup draw with lower league Stockport County - which was eventually won on penalties - brought 'sacked in the morning' chants from home supporters and some away fans, according to The Times.

Rodgers acknowledges it's a tough moment but wants to fight on. He left Celtic for Leicester more than three years ago but this is his most challenging period since leaving Parkhead. The King Power Stadium boss said: "I understand the position we're in, so I can only imagine for the supporters that the club feels like a ball of frustration at the moment.

"If the club decides it needs to go in a different direction, that's the way it is. That's football and that's management. I'm in here early in the morning until late at night, trying to find solutions and the best way forward.

"For a lot of the time, we have managed to do well for a club of this size. The expectation is not aligned with our finances in terms of where we should be competing. It doesn't make us any less ambitious.

"For me, it's a continuation of that: we're always fighting. I'm experienced enough to know that if you don't get the results, you can come under pressure. That's normal. I will continue to push and fight to get the best results we can."
