West Ham find out Europa League quarter-final fate after superb victory over Sevilla

West Ham have been drawn against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals following their remarkable 2-1 aggregate win over Sevilla in the last-16. David Moyes' side overcame a 1-0 deficit going into the second leg and produced a remarkable performance to see off the Spanish side at a rocking London Stadium.

The Hammers' reward is a last-eight clash with Lyon with the home leg to be played on April 7 followed by away second-leg on April 14. West Ham will no doubt take tens of thousands of fans with them as they did in Sevilla and create another fantastic atmosphere for Moyes' side.

The home leg at the London Stadium is set to be another raucous night with Moyes keen to give the supporters more to cheer as he sets his sights on further progress in the tournament. "It is great but I need to go further now that is my big thing, I am challenging the players but I have to challenge myself as well and find a way of getting a result in the next game," Moyes said after the win over Sevilla.

The draw for the semi-finals took place immediately following the quarter-finals and West Ham learnt their fate should they see off the French outfit. A trip to either Eintracht Frankfurt or Barcelona awaits the winners of West Ham's tie. The semi-finals are scheduled for April 28 and May 5.

The winner of West Ham vs Lyon will be at home in the first leg of the semi-final before a trip to either the Camp Nou or the Waldstadion on May 5. The winners of the semi-final will then find themselves with a visit to Sevilla for the Europa League final on Wednesday, May 18.

Moyes did not get his wish in either the quarter-final or semi-final draw with the manager hoping for the second legs to be back at the London Stadium, although the Scot did not mind who West Ham faced.

"We'll challenge anybody who comes along. After seeing London Stadium the way it was last night, it would be good to have the second leg at home. I think that would be very good for us," Moyes said ahead of the draw. However, the manager added: "We always want to challenge the best teams and we are certainly getting a good group of teams now and we challenged a really good team last night against Sevilla and over the two legs just about did it."
