Tyreeq Bakinson has completed a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday, ending a long-running and frustrating transfer situation for Bristol City.
Bakinson has signed for an undisclosed fee and has joined one of the favourites for League One promotion after another, Ipswich Town, had declined to take up the option in their loan agreement.
The 23-year-old has been training with the Under-23 squad since returning for pre-season in June and not featured in any of City’s friendlies after Nigel Pearson very publicly criticised his character at the start of the year.
