Arsenal defender Ben White has been called up to the England squad for the World Cup.
There had been some doubt over whether the 25-year-old would be on the plane to Qatar after he was left out of Gareth Southgate's group for the final set of friendlies against Italy and Germany in September. However, following injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell and fitness doubts over Kyle Walker, White has been included in the squad.
He is set to be joined by two of his Arsenal teammates in the group travelling out to the Middle East next week. Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale have also made the group, while Emile Smith Rowe has long since been ruled out with a groin injury.

White though is perhaps the pick that will delight Arsenal fans the most. There had been outrage when he had been left out of the last squad despite being a regular in a Gunners side that sit top of the Premier League.
Some had argued that he was being disadvantaged due to the fact that he has played mostly at right-back this season. However, with England likely to play a back four, his versatility could prove to be very useful for Southgate as he seeks to claim England's first major trophy since 1966.
The Three Lions begin their campaign with a match against Iran on the 21st of November, before facing Matt Turner's USA side on the 25th. They will then round off the group stages with a match against Wales, where former Gunner Aaron Ramsey is likely to be involved.
