The Boston Celtics defeated the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday afternoon on the road 104-92. With the win, the Celtics snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 26-13 away from TD Garden for the season.
Defense was the main story for Boston in the Big Easy. After giving up 37-points in the first quarter, the Celtics completely took over on the defensive end. They allowed just 55 points in the final three periods of the game. This included a third quarter that saw New Orleans manage to score a meager 11 points. Sure, Boston looked good on the offensive end as well, but it was defense that won the game for the Celtics.
