Chelsea confirm ex-Man City chief as President of Business amid Todd Boehly overhaul

Chelsea have today appointed former Manchester City executive Tom Glick as the club's new President of Business.

Glick will handles the day-to-day operations at Stamford Bridge, including managing Chelsea's global commercial strategy, revenue growth, engagement and supporter experiences. Glick is the latest appointment as new owner Todd Boehly continues to make changes behind the scenes.

Boehly has shaken up the club's boardroom after the club confirmed former director Marina Granovskaia would leave her position at the end of the summer transfer window. Glick is expected to come in and assume a lot of Granovskaia's responsibilities as Boehly's era in charge begins with plenty of change on and off the pitch.

Glick was most recently President of the NFL's Carolina Panthers franchise, but now becomes a member of Chelsea's boardroom staff. Following his appointment, Glick said: "Chelsea FC is an iconic sports institution, known and admired all over the world.

"I have been very impressed with the vision and mission of Todd Boehly and Clearlake. They have the Chelsea community at the heart of everything they do. We have a huge opportunity here to enhance performance across the board, on behalf of everyone we serve."

Glick has also held positions as Chief Commercial Officer of City Football Group and CEO of Derby County. In English football, he served on the Football League Board, the FA Council, and the Professional Game Board.

Boehly, chairman and co-controlling owner, believes Glick's experience and skills will help the club improve infrastructure, increase reputation and introduce new and exciting ways for fans to engage with players. Boehly commented: "Tom’s successful track record as a leader and innovator at several respected and winning sport organisations made him the obvious choice for this position.

"His skills and experience will be vital as we improve Chelsea FC’s key infrastructure, expand the Club’s products and reputation, and find exciting new ways for our loyal supporters to engage with their favourite players."

Behdad Eghbali and Jose E. Feliciano, co-controlling owners, said: "Tom is a terrific addition to Chelsea FC and will advance our long-term plans for the Club. He has the experience and credentials to elevate our significant global standing and help lead our commitment to strengthen the Club through investments in squad additions, infrastructure, technology, the youth academy, and the Women’s Team."

Glick will replace Guy Laurence, who had been CEO at Chelsea for four years before leaving last month. Chelsea are also looking to appoint a new sporting director before the January transfer window at the latest, with Boehly currently operating in that role.
