Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte championed disability rights; family foundation gave $117,000

RJ Mitte, the actor best known for playing Walter White Jr., also known as Flynn, in Breaking Bad, died on October 12, 2026, at the age of 34. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of three, Mitte drew on his personal experiences to advocate for people with disabilities. Beyond his acting career, he supported organisations including Shriners Children's and United Cerebral Palsy, raising awareness about disability inclusion and bullying. His philanthropic connections also extended to the Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation, which awarded $117,000 to the Brownsville Wellness Coalition's StartUp Texas Accelerator Program in 2024.
