We finally have another big update from the Michigan tunnel incident, where Michigan State football players were seen on camera attacking a Michigan player.
According to attorney Dave Diamond, who is representing one of the MSU players who were suspended, it was a Michigan football player who first ‘engaged with Spartan athletes with his helmet and swinging a punch.’ The release also states that ‘the UM player started the altercation.’
This would be a major update to a story that has largely placed the Michigan football players as victims of an attack by the Spartans. It will be up to the legal process and the footage and eye witnesses they have available to corroborate these claims, but this is certainly a major update in this story and will be one to continue monitoring.

This report follows allegations made by Maliq Carr’s family last week that he was nearly attacked by a Michigan player while trying to board the bus.
