The New York Jets’ offense was going nowhere. Leave it to Brandin Echols and the defense to put some jump into the team on Black Friday.
Trailing 10-0 late in the second quarter against the Miami Dolphins on Friday at MetLife, Echols jumped a route and was off and running after picking off the Tua Tagovailoa pass.
Thirty yards later, he was in the end zone and the Jets were within 10-6 of the AFC East leaders.
That’s right, 10-6, because Greg Zuerlein missed the PAT.

Tim Boyle, who replaced an ineffective Zach Wilson as the Jets’ starting quarterback, was not doing much in the first 30 minutes.
He completed 7 of 10 passes for all of 35 yards.
