- The Department for Transport has announced plans for a new railway station at Bradford Interchange to transform transport links across the North of England.
- Scheduled to open in the 2030s, the new facility will replace the 1970s structure and form part of Great British Railways and Northern Powerhouse Rail.
- The station will deliver faster, more frequent and more reliable train connections between Bradford, Leeds, Manchester and York.
- Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander and Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin highlighted the project's potential to drive regional economic growth and regeneration.
- Bradford Council estimates the new station, alongside the proposed West Yorkshire Mass Transit Network, will deliver over £1 billion in economic benefits.
