JAIPUR: Heat wave is expected to return to the state after a brief respite as the effect of cyclonic circulation developed over west Rajasthan triggering dust wind and drizzle is likely to ebb in the coming days.
Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Dausa, Nagaur and Jaipur districts witnessed dust storms on Thursday as well. The sky turned cloudy due to dust and soil in city.
There was light drizzle at some places. The meteorological department has warned of return of severe heat in the coming days.
Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets are likely over west Rajasthan till April 16; over East Rajasthan for the next 5 days and in some parts over West Rajasthan on April 17 & 18.
Barmer has remained the hottest place at 43.4 degree Celsius followed by Ganganagar at 42.6 degree celsius on Thursday. In other districts the mercury hovered around 40 degree Celsius. Jaipur reported a maximum temperature of 39 degree Celsius which was below 2 degree normal. The minimum temeprature also reported considerable drop from 2 to 5 degree Celsius on Thursday due to dust wind.
According to weathermen, there has been a change in weather for two days due to the cyclonic circulation that developed in the western part of the state. In Bikaner, Jodhpur and Jaipur divisions, the temperature had come down by 4°C due to the drizzle and dust storm. The weather will be clear from Friday and the mercury will start rising.
