A three-year-old boy has been left injured sand traumatised after falling through a broken manhole cover at a holiday park. Ryan O'Neill, wife Lyndsey and his three children, had not long arrived at a holiday park they were staying at this weekend when little Jake, three, fell into the manhole next to their accommodation.
Ryan says the manhole cover was "insecure" and was "bent" and when Jake ran over it as he chased his football and fell 5ft into the sewer. Jake was taken to hospital to be checked over. He suffered grazes to his chin, arms, legs and was bruised following the incident.
Ryan told The Echo: "The manhole cover wasn't on properly and it was bent. Someone said it looked like a van or lawnmower had gone over it and dislodged it. The girls said Jake has gone across it and its moved and he's fell in. It wasn't on properly and wasn't secured down.
