Children were seen walking past a police cordon on their way to school after a man's body was found in a home.
At around 3.30pm on Thursday, June 8, Merseyside Police were called to Huyton House Road in Huyton following reports of a concern for the safety of a man in his 20s. Tragically, once officers arrived they found the body of a man in a house.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. A large police cordon was put in place on Thursday afternoon as emergency services launched an investigation.

The police cordon remained in place on Friday morning, but had reduced in size, now covering just a few houses on Huyton House Road, to the junction of Lincombe Road. One vehicle and several officers were at the scene but the road was open to traffic.
On Friday morning, schoolchildren could be heard saying "Oh my God" as they walked past the police cordon on their way to school, with one primary school pupil shouting to his parents that the "police were everywhere" yesterday. Another child simply waved at the officer at the scene.
Older children stopped to look at the cordon and cars slowed as they passed. One mum said it was "horrible" for children to see but that she was "heart-broken" for the family involved. She added she will hug her own children tighter.
With a park nearby and three schools within walking distance, the cordon was all anyone could talk about on Friday morning as the community came to terms with the tragic loss. One passer-by, on their way to work, said they were saddened to hear what had happened and described it as "awful".
One person arrived yesterday to the police cordon in place already and they had a "sinking feeling". Merseyside Police confirmed yesterday the victim has not been formally identified and a post mortem will take place to establish his cause of death.
Following initial enquiries, police arrested three men, aged 28, 25 and 36, on suspicion of murder. Detective Superintendent Helen Bennett said: "It is with great sadness that we confirm that a man has died following an incident in Huyton. We are in the very early stages of the investigation as we seek to establish what has taken place.
"Although we have made three arrests, we are still appealing for anyone who has any information to please come forward. If you live in the area, please check your CCTV or smart doorbell footage to see if you captured anything suspicious and if you were driving in the area please review your dashcam footage.
"Any information, no matter how small, might help the investigation."
