Boy band Blue sleeping on tour bus after being barred from hotels during wild antics

They may be famed for their sugary, chart-topping ballads but off-stage, Blue could give rock’s biggest bad boys a run for their money.

In fact, I can reveal that they are such hellraisers, they’re having to sleep on their tour bus because they’ve been banned from so many hotels.

Duncan James, Antony Costa, Simon Webbe and Lee Ryan have promised to behave when they head off on their Heart & Soul tour in December.

But hoteliers will still be quaking in their boots when they hear the boys are going back on the road.

Duncan tells me: “We were always having water fights, trashing rooms and causing chaos. We’re still banned from a hotel in Newcastle because Lee got the fire extinguisher and soaked all the United players in the bar.

“He had to pay for everyone’s drinks. He also ruined Alan Shearer’s suit. He wasn’t very happy, so Lee had to pay for his dry cleaning. I think that incident cost him about £3,000.”

Simon adds: “We’ve been banned from quite a few hotels.

“I think Lee still owes £10,000 to the Hilton Hotel in Sheffield when he pushed over their Christmas tree in the lobby.

“All we heard was someone shout, ‘Timber’, then this huge tree came crashing down.

“Next thing, Lee appeared with a really naughty look on his face.”

Duncan reveals that even the band’s manager wasn’t safe.

He says: “We bought loads of fish and hid them in his car during the summer. When he turned his engine on, the smell made him vomit everywhere.”

The boys, who have just released their first album in seven years, assure me that their wild antics are a thing of the past.

Heart & Soul is out now and their headline tour kicks off in Cardiff on December 4.
