Frazer Clarke started his professional career with a first-round victory after opponent Jake Darnell stepped in at two days' notice.
Heavyweight Clarke, who won a bronze medal at last year's Olympics, had struggled to find an opponent for his debut in the paid ranks.
Darnell, meanwhile, wanted to be ringside for Amir Khan's clash with Kell Brook in Manchester - but couldn't get a ticket.
His manager then offered him the fight against Clarke, which Darnell accepted.
"I was down at the public workout on Wednesday, asked my manager, ‘Come on mate, can you get me a ticket?’," he said before the fight.
"He was like, ‘It’s not going to happen.’
"Then I got a call Thursday off him. He was like, 'I’ve got you a ticket for the fight, but you’ve gotta fight Frazer.’
"So I’m like, ‘No dramas, let’s go and have it.'
"I work with kids in care and I took one of the kids down, he’s just started boxing himself.
"He wanted to go and watch them, see all the famous boxers.
"I was like, ‘Yeah let’s go.’ I was down there watching, tried to get myself a ticket, couldn’t get one.
"I got the phone call 24 hours later, ‘You can come, but you’ve got to fight.'"

Clarke, 30, is expected to be moved quickly having sparred countless rounds with Anthony Joshua.
And he promised bigger nights ahead after his facile victory.
"I understand there is a long way to go," he said. "I'm not where I want to be physically yet but I will get there.
"The better the opponent, the better I will box. This is just the start. I've got loads to learn."
Khan would later be stopped by Brook as the Sheffield star ended their rivalry in conclusive fashion.
The two former world champions finally met in the ring after almost two decades of bickering.
And it was Brook who dominated from the first bell until referee Victor Loughlin stepped in.
