Per the NBA, Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jayson Tatum can now add a novel honor to his legacy after having been elected to the very first First Team of his career. The St. Louis native finished with 390 total points from 49 First-Team votes (5 points each), 47 Second-Team votes (3 points), and 4 Third Team votes (1 point) for the lowest total points of any of his other four First Team peers.
Those players include Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks – 500 points) in the other forward position, Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets – 476 points) at center, and Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks – 476 points) and Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns – 460 points) in the backcourt.
The honor is the highest of Tatum’s career to date with him previously having made Third Team the season before last.

The timing could have been better for the Duke product’s earnings, however, with Tatum having missed out on a bonus that would have given him about $32 million had he made an All-NBA squad last season.
