Boss delivers 'strong' defender verdict after completing Nottingham Forest transfer

Interim York City boss John Askey says Nottingham Forest youngster Sam Sanders will be needed over the next few weeks following his loan move to the National League side.

The 20-year-old defender arrived at Yorkshire-based outfit on a one-month youth loan this week, and could make his debut at home to Guiseley on Saturday.

Askey told The York Press: "I’ve seen a bit of Sam. He’s come in from Nottingham Forest and he’s been playing for their Under-23s on a regular basis.
