Borussia Dortmund chief makes Man City admission over Erling Haaland and other rumours

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has extinguished rumours that Manchester City have submitted a bid for Erling Haaland.

The striker has been long linked with a move to the Etihad this summer. The club are thought to be frontrunners for the 21-year-old, who has a reported release clause of £63m that may be activated before the end of the season.

There had been reports that City had already tabled a mega-money deal for Haaland worth around £250m with agents fees and signing-on bonuses included. But Kehl has dismissed this as inaccurate speculation.

Speaking to Sky Germany (via Sports Mole ), he said: "We want to make a decision as soon as possible. Erling always wants to play and you always try to make a good decision together with him."

When asked if any club had approached Dortmund over paying out Haaland’s release clause, he replied: “No.”

PSG and Real Madrid have both also supposedly thrown their name into the hat for the Norway striker. Haaland netted a brace in a 6-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg on Saturday, taking his season tally to 25 goals in 26 games.

Meanwhile, Fichajes reports that Bernardo Silva is wanted by PSG, Barcelona and Juventus. The midfielder is contracted at City until 2025 but is reportedly considering his future.

The Portugal international had a terrific first half of the season, netting seven times in the Premier League before Christmas. However, he has failed to score in his 13 league outings since.

Barcelona’s interest hinges on Ousmane Dembele deciding where his future lies while PSG could make a move if either Kylian Mbappe or Neymar leaves France.
