Desperate Boris Johnson has been hit by a backlash after trying to revive one of Margaret Thatcher’s flagship policies only days before voters go to the polls.
The Prime Minister is understood to want a new Right to Buy Scheme for tenants who rent from housing associations.
He told officials to draw up the plans in the last fortnight to help young people struggling to get on to the property ladder, the Telegraph reported.
