The published behind the Borderlands and Bioshock video game franchise has admitted its customer support services were hacked. 2K, which also publishes sports games NBA 2K and WWE 2K, has sent an urgent message to fans of its games.
The company said that its customer support services were hacked and a number of customers were then contacted by the fraudsters. It has warned players to ignore emails from the team.
In a statement published on Twitter on Tuesday (September 20), 2K said: "Earlier today, we became aware that an unauthorized third party illegally accessed the credentials of one of our vendors to the help desk platform that 2K uses to provide support to our customers. The unauthorized party sent a communication to certain players containing a malicious link.
