A boy was attacked by a gang of boozed teenagers in suits in Kilmarnock at the weekend.
Police have launched an investigation into the 'unacceptable' incident that unfolded in the town's Howard Park on Saturday at around 5pm.
The 15-year-old was walking through the popular park when he was approached by a group and attacked.
Cops say the boy sustained 'slight bruising' to the face and body.
The gang was comprised of kids of around 15 or 16 years old and were all wearing dark suits with one being described as having red hair.
Police say that it's believed that the group were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the attack.
Inspector Iain Farmer of Kilmarnock Police Station said: “This type of behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and I appeal to the community for their assistance in identifying those responsible. The police and partners will continue to work alongside each other to tackle youth disorder within the park.
“Again, I ask that parents/guardians are aware of where their children are and what they are doing. Anti-social behaviour of all forms will be appropriately dealt with."
The park in question has become a hotbed of anti-social behaviour in recent weeks and months with a gang of men involved in a park disturbance with youths the previous weekend.
Residents have also reported bins being torched and bottles being smashed in booze-fuelled parties.
Members of the public with information to provide in relation to the incident can contact 101 and quote incident number 2618 of April 30 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
