If you’re looking forward to Bonfire Night, then take your brolly – weather experts are predicting a possibility of rain.
November got off to a wet and windy start, as parts of the country felt the effects of a storm in France.
Gusts of more than 70mph were seen in coastal areas of England, as strong winds hit southern coasts on Tuesday morning after the fallout from Storm Claudio.
On Monday night, the North-East had a yellow weather warning in place as rain battered the region. The Met Office is now forecasting a mixed bag over the next few days, with dry and bright spells as well as showers.
In the North-East, temperatures are not expected to rise above 13C over the coming week, and occasional heavy showers or long spells of rain are also expected.
Met Office predictions for the weekend
The weather outlook for Saturday, according to the Met Office, is a cold start, then rain moving east throughout the day.
Rain in the east will clear on Sunday morning, leaving a mixture of clear and sunny spells, as well as blustery showers. There could also be heavy and thundery showers in places.
For London, the forecast is for a partly cloudy day on Saturday, with a cold start, and rain moving east throughout the day.
Edinburgh will have light rain by lunchtime on Saturday, and in Belfast there will be heavy rain after it becomes sunnier in the afternoon.
An earlier long-range UK forecast from the Met Office predicted rain and strong winds for the majority of the country on Saturday morning, with some brighter conditions moving across from the west throughout the day.
Dry spells are, however, expected to be interspersed with heavy, blustery showers, as well as there being a risk of coastal gales.
The wettest weather is most likely to be in the west, and North-West, with temperatures at or slightly above average for the time of year.
What is the long-range weather forecast?
Meanwhile, the UK’s long-range weather forecast, which runs from November 5 to 14, predicts unsettled weather conditions across the country.
The Met Office says: “Rain and strong winds are likely for the majority on Saturday morning [November 5], with brighter conditions moving across from the west through the day. However, any dry spells will likely be interspersed with heavy, blustery showers with a risk of coastal gales.
“Remaining unsettled towards the end of the weekend, but possibly drier for some on Monday, especially further south. Changeable conditions will likely remain with further rain at times, sometimes heavy, for most areas.
“The wettest weather is most likely to be in the west and northwest. Staying windy at times across the UK with a risk of gales, especially in coastal areas. Temperatures at or slightly above average for the time of year.”
