Ian Evatt believes Bolton Wanderers will ensure any loan move for Ronan Darcy is right for the player and reiterated that the attacker has a big future at the club with a decision to be made later on in the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old is now back at Wanderers having spent the first half of the season out on loan at Sogndal in Norway.
Academy product Darcy played nine times for the Norwegian side and recently played his first game of the season for Bolton earlier this month.

The question of whether Darcy - who earlier in the season put pen to paper on a new contract at Wanderers until the summer of 2023 - might now head back on loan to pick up more experience and get more minutes under his belt has risen.
Wanderers boss Evatt revealed how Darcy's spell in Norway has seen him transform his body by playing men's football on a regular basis and is one of the players who has pleased him the most this campaign.
Evatt does not believes Darcy is ready to play week in, week out for Wanderers right this very moment, but he sees him playing a big part in the future, with a decision on whether he heads out on loan to get more minutes under his belt to be made later on in the transfer window, with only a week to go now until deadline day.
Evatt told the Manchester Evening News: “We’re always looking and I must say Ronan is one of the players that has pleased me the most this season really. He’s been away to Norway but what he’s done is he’s transformed himself physically and that’s what he needed to do.
"He’s always been very technical and had good ability, but he needed to be able to cope with the robustness and physical nature of this division.
“He’s gone away and took himself in the gym every day and physically he looks a different specimen now.
"We’re really pleased with him. Is he ready to play week in, week out, right here and right now? No, but he’s certainly capable and we’ll decide later on in the window whether we feel he needs to go out on loan but we’ll make sure it’s right for him because we feel he’s got a really big future here.”
