Jack Iredale hopes Bolton Wanderers can return to winning ways this evening against Crewe Alex in the Papa Johns Trophy and knows he must keep performing to give himself the best chance of staying in the team.
Wanderers head into this evening's clash against the Railwaymen on the back of three defeats in the space of a week. This includes against Sheffield Wednesday in League One and Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.
The latest was a 2-0 league loss against Plymouth Argyle over the weekend. Goals from Niall Ennis and Ryan Hardie handed the Pilgrims three points.

Iredale joined Wanderers over the summer from Cambridge United and is enjoying his time at the club so far. He is providing competition in both the heart of defence and left wing-back.
The defender believes he is capable of playing both positions and feels it has been a decent start to the season for Wanderers, who were handed a tricky start to the campaign. But Iredale wants the Whites to return to winning ways against the Railwaymen this evening.
He said: “I am enjoying it. I am getting game time. Still learning but I feel part of the group and I am looking forward to the season ahead as well.
“I feel comfortable there (at left wing-back), I have played there before. I have played left wing before, I have played left-back before, so it is just about combining all those and also adapting to the tactical changes.
“I think I am quite versatile. The information that I get from the sidelines as well makes it really clear what my roles and responsibilities are. And obviously, with every game and each situation I am learning as well.
“It has (been a decent start). And I think as well, as a club we have probably had the most difficult start to the fixtures out of anyone. It is still August, we have got such a long way to go and get so much better. We are definitely not panicking but we know that we need to start getting results on the board.
“That is League One now, isn’t it? It is going to keep coming thick and fast and we are up for the challenge.
“We want to win games. Winning is the best habit that we can have as a football a club and other the tough week that we have had there, it is a chance to put it right.”
