Bolton motorcyclist dies after crash as roads remain closed through town

A 27-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash in Bolton. Police were called to Moss Bank Way following an incident on Tuesday, June 14.

Officers say the bike was travelling through the area between 10.40pm and 11.10pm, when it was involved in a crash. The incident is said to have happened between Captains Clough Road and Halliwell Road.

Emergency services attended the scene but the rider was pronounced dead. A number of roads are closed in the area while investigation work takes place.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "A 27-year-old male was travelling along Moss Bank Way between 22:40 and 23:10 when he was involved in a collision on Moss Bank Way, between Captains Clough Road and Halliwell Road. Emergency services attended but, sadly, the motorcyclist died at the scene.

"Moss Bank Way is currently closed between the junction of Captains Clough Rd and Halliwell Rd while investigations are underway. The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours and motorists may wish to consider alternative routes."
