Bolsonaro ‘recognising’ Brazil election defeat, supreme court says

Brazil’s supreme court has announced that outgoing president Jair Bolsonaro is recognising the result of the election which saw him defeated by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

On Tuesday, the law body said Mr Bolsonaro has authorised the start of government transition of power. However, he has not formally conceded defeat over the election on Sunday.
