The body of a man who was missing from home for one month has been found in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire police released a statement on its website on Monday, February 20, reporting that the body of missing man Matthew Dillon was found in Scarborough on February 3, 2023. Matthew, 46, was last seen leaving his home address in Armitage Gardens, Mossley Hill on Monday, January 2.

Matthew was then captured on CCTV in York on January 4. Coastal rescue teams recovered a body from the sea near Scarborough Pier on February 3, which has since been identified as Matthew, police said.
A spokesperson from North Yorkshire Police said: "Police searching for missing Matthew Dillon from Liverpool, have sadly confirmed that the body of a man found near Scarborough Pier is Matthew. Coastal search teams recovered his body from the area on 3 February 2023.
"Officers believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be prepared for the coroner for a future inquest. Matthew’s family have been informed and have requested privacy at this time."
