Body of man found in Ross Lagoon at Taylorville, in SA's Riverland

The body of a man has been found in waters at Taylorville, in South Australia's Riverland, police say.

SA Police said they were called to an area off Taylorville Road about 2:15pm on Sunday with the Country Fire Service (CFS) and State Emergency Service (SES) after a member of the public reported seeing the body of a person in the water.

The man's body was found in Ross Lagoon, near the town of Waikerie.

The news comes as Riverland communities continue to grapple with rising waters in the nearby River Murray.

Police said the man was yet to be identified and they were examining the circumstances of his death.

Taylorville Road has been closed between Devlins Pound Road and Twigden Road.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
