The body of a man has been found at an allotment in County Durham.
Emergency services attended the scene at St Oswald’s Allotment on Hylton Close in Newton Aycliffe on Saturday morning following reports that a body had been found. Officers from Durham Constabulary searched the area where they located the body of a man.
Police do not believe there to have been any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death.
At this stage, Durham Constabulary have not publicly confirmed the identity of the man. The man's family though has been informed.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said :"We received reports that a body of a man had been found at an allotment in Hylton Close, Newton Aycliffe, just after 9am on Saturday (May 14).
"It is not believed there were any suspicious circumstances and the man’s family have been informed. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
