‘Body’ discovered in suitcase in Australia is actually lifelike doll

Police
  • Australian police have concluded a homicide investigation after a lifelike doll was mistaken for human remains in a suitcase.
  • The incident began when two members of the public discovered a dumped suitcase on the side of a road in Oallen, New South Wales, believing it contained a body.
  • Forensic examinations later determined the item was a doll, complete with clothing, hair, a nose piercing, and markings resembling bruises and grazes.
  • Police had established a crime scene, with Superintendent Linda Bradbury stating the doll was "very realistic" and the discovery was shocking for the public.
  • This event follows a similar occurrence in the UK in 2023, where police investigated a discarded sex doll believed to be a dead body.
