Nottingham Forest's run in the Carabao Cup continues at the fourth round stage this midweek against Championship opponents Blackburn Rovers.
It is also the first competitive match back for head coach Steve Cooper 's side following the pause in their season for the World Cup. The timing of this tie also provides a useful tune-up for the team before the Premier League resumes for them the day after Boxing Day when the Reds will face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Before that, a place in the fifth round is to be decided. Forest are yet to concede a goal in the competition so far after following up their 3-0 win away against Grimsby Town with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground last month.

The Championship resumed earlier this month once the World Cup had reached the quarter-finals stage, so Rovers have already played two matches since their extended break. They returned by being well-beaten 4-1 at home by fellow Lancashire side Preston North End but bounced back with a 2-0 away win against Norwich City on Saturday evening to remain well-positioned in the play-off places.
When is the match?
The match takes place on Wednesday (20 December), with kick-off set for 7:45pm (GMT). Ewood Park is the venue as Cooper and company return to competitive action.
Where can I watch it?
The match has not been selected for showing on television by the competition's United Kingdom broadcast partner Sky Sports, so will not be available to watch live in the country. In fact, none of tomorrow's four fourth-round ties are being shown by Sky, instead Aberdeen versus Rangers in the Scottish Premiership is being shown on Tuesday night.
Manchester United versus Burnley (Wednesday, 8pm GMT) and Manchester City versus Liverpool (Thursday, 8pm GMT) are the only two games set to be shown across Sky's channels. Highlights of the fourth round, aside from Thursday's match, will be shown on ITV1 at at five minutes past midnight on Wednesday night/ Thursday morning.
Forest's match is being shown around the world, though, on EFL broadcast partners. beIN SPORTS have the rights to the game in the Middle East and North Africa region while Sport1 will show the game in Israel.
In South Africa, SuperSport will be showing the game and in Scandinavia and the Baltic regions, ViaPlay will broadcast the match on their streaming services.
