Black Cat and White Fox are coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 7, along with ultimate charge changes

Marvel Rivals Season 7 launches March 20 with two major character additions and one of the game’s biggest system-level balance changes to date.

White Fox joins the roster at the start of the season, while Black Cat will be added to the roster during Season 7.5.

White Fox is the game’s newest Strategist and adds another welcome support option to the role pool. Her kit is built around close-quarters support play, using Yeowoo Guseul fox marbles to heal allies and damage enemies, while Kumiho energy powers up teammates and charms opponents.

She can function both as a backline healer that doesn’t get in harm’s way, or join her frontliners as a combat healer, as her tools allow her to save her diver allies even from the most dire of situations.

White Fox’s real name is Ami Han, a South Korean hero and super-spy who debuted in Marvel’s 2014 webcomic Avengers: Electric Rain before making her English-language comic debut in Contest of Champions (2015) #1.

She is the last known Kumiho, a shapeshifting nine-tailed fox from Korean folklore, which gives her enhanced physical abilities, animal communication, and other mystical powers. Over the years, she has worked with the Ultimates, the Agents of Atlas, and Tiger Division, where she has taken on a leadership role and fought alongside Luna Snow as one of South Korea’s key comic heroes.

She arrives on March 20 with the start of Season 7.

The second character to be added in the upcoming season is Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. There have been different variations of her story over the years, but she’s mainly been an anti-hero and Peter Parker’s on-again, off-again lover. NetEase will reveal more about her before she appears in Season 7.5, but we do already know that she was hired by the mayor Wilson Fisk himself. Her Marvel Rivals role isn’t known either, but despite some confusion with her teaser poster, she’s projected to be a Duelist.

The main headline feature of the upcoming season, aside from the new characters, is the change to the Ultimate ability charge rate. It will be around an overall reduction of roughly 20 percent, with NetEase breaking that down by role through lower damage and healing conversion rates.

Vanguards and Duelists now convert damage into ultimate energy at 70 percent instead of 90 percent. Strategists drop to 75 percent for damage and healing conversion, and their passive ultimate regeneration falls from 12 energy per second to 8. Aside from this, NetEase will also take a look at the underperforming and overpowered heroes and balance them accordingly.

The devs haven’t said anything new about the Path to Doomsday roadmap that was revealed earlier this year.
