BJP seeks Rahul Gandhi’s comments on violence during West Bengal panchayat election

NEW DELHI: While the Congress has been consistently demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comments on the ethnic violence raging in the northeastern state of Manipur since May 3, the BJP has started seeking the opposition party leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the bloodbath during the just-concluded panchayat election in Trinamool Congress (TMC)-ruled West Bengal.

The BJP claims that at least 48 people lost their lives in the violence that took place since the announcement of the schedule on June 8 for the panchayat election in Bengal till counting of votes on July 11 and later.
