BJP announces names of candidates for MLC polls in Uttar Pradesh

LUCKNOW: In a late Monday evening development, the BJP announced the names of candidates for five graduate and teacher constituencies seats in the UP legislative council.

The party decided to repeat its three candidates for graduate constituencies -- Jai Pal Singh Vyast (Bareilly Moradabad); Arun pathak (Kanpur-Unnao) and Devendra Pratap Singh (Gorakhpur-Faizabad) constituency.

The party however named new candidates for the two teachers constituencies. While Venu Ranjan Bhadoria will be the party nominee for Kanpur-Unnao teachers constituency, Babu Lal Tewari will be the party candidate for Jhansi-Prayagraj.

BJP sources said that party national president JP Nadda gave his formal approval to the names of the candidates for the said MLC seats. The decision was communicated to the state unit by national general secretary Bhupendra Yadav.
