Bill Belichick had a hilariously blunt answer about the Patriots’ murky future

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t seem too worried about the future of his team.

The Patriots missed the playoffs this past season and are now dealing with quarterback uncertainty with the up-and-down play of 2021 first-round pick Mac Jones.

While the days of quarterback Tom Brady are long gone, Belichick said at this week’s NFL owners meetings that New England fans should look to the past for optimism about the future.

Although, he said this in the most Belichickian way possible, in such a way that says in just a few words more than entire paragraphs ever could. The Patriot Way has never been super verbose, after all.

Well, there is a Brady-sized hole on New England’s roster, one that the team has never been fully able to fill since the future Hall of Famer left the franchise for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.

However, don’t count Belichick to be one to fret too much about what’s coming. He seems perfectly content to rest on past successes to predict future ones. It’s just a matter of if the longtime Patriots coach is right.
