Bihar: Contingent of 300 officials fails to track tiger in Valmiki Tiger Reserve

BAGAHA: The Royal Bengal Tiger, which has killed six people in the last six months in the nearby villages of Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR), continues to give a tough time to a large contingent of around 300 officials, trackers, rescuers, a sharpshooter, veterinary doctors and forest jawans for the last 18 days. The feline was spotted in Dungrapur village under Govardhana forest range on Friday.

VTR director-cum-field director Nesamani K said the tiger is around three-years-old and is likely to have been forced away from the forest by other adult tigers in the VTR. He also claimed that the feeding habit of the tiger may also have changed owing to being near human habitation for long.
