Chelsea have completed the signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the season. The Blues were keen to strengthen their attacking options after Armando Broja suffered a long-term knee injury during the World Cup break.
Todd Boehly spent close to £300million in his first summer transfer window as he brought in eight new signings, including Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to reinforce the attack. Felix now becomes the Blues' second loan deal of the season after Denis Zakaria joined from Juventus in the summer.
The Portugal international is Atletico's most expensive signing in the club's history after joining from Benfica for £113million in 2019. Felix looked destined to leave the Spanish outfit after his relationship with Diego Simeone worsened in recent months and he now has the chance to get his career back on track at Stamford Bridge.
